Re: NBA Official Off Season Thread

Why on earth would you want to do it though? Why would you take a young team that already has enough talent to win a championship and fuck with it by adding this cancer?

Re: NBA Official Off Season Thread

Personally I don't want to see it done, that's my personal opinion, I wanna see them re-sign Andres Nocioni, and use that High Draft Pick on a Big Man. I'd rather keep The core that's there then trade it away...

As reported in the Shoutbox, possible trade talks surrounding Kevin Garnett have involved the Boston Celtics as reported by ESPN.com's Chad Ford here's what it looks like

Boston Gets:
PF Kevin Garnett

Minnesota Gets:
PG Sebastian Telfair
GF Gerald Green
PF Theo Ratliff
PF Al Jefferson
SG Allan Ray
5th Overall Pick(2007)

That would leave the teams with the Starting Five's of
Boston:
C Kendrick Perkins
PF Kevin Garnett
SF Wally Sczerbiak
SG Paul Pierce
PG Delonte West

Minnesota
C Theo Ratliff/Mark Blount
PF Al Jefferson
SF Ricky Davis/Gerald Green
SG Randy Foye/Gerald Green
PG Sebastian Telfair/Troy Hudson/Marko Jaric/Randy Foye

It definitely give the T'Wolves some flexibility and two Top 10 Picks. And it gives the Celtics at least a couple runs at the finals. As they aren't run compeletly bone dry.

EDIT: Kevin Garnett does have an opt-out clause at the end of 2007 Season, so he could only have one go in Boston, that may decrease the trade value

Re: NBA Official Off Season Thread

Essentially if the Celts were to keep Jefferson, the T'Wolves would be screwed, I mean Jefferson is basically the kicker in the trade. Sure Green is a good swingman, Telfair was a playground legend, Ratliff and his nice expiring contract, and Ray's in there to make the salaries match. But without Jefferson, you get a bunch of nice players for someone(Garnett) who is a 20-10 Night in and night out. I don't think the Celts should give up the Draft Pick IMO. Keep the pick and fill your own squad, the rest of the players would make me go for it. Or maybe just a swap of 1st round picks.

And to the Kobe thing, Sure it'd be great to have 35 a night, but at what Price, Paxson won't bite on the deal, he knows better

Re: NBA Official Off Season Thread

Is Al Jefferson really Boston's second-best player? I don't even know what he looks like, but his name sounds like some third-rate Republican presidential candidate.

Re: NBA Official Off Season Thread

I don't know if he's their 2nd best player but he's got the potential to be a 20-10 guy from what I hear.. Who the hell knows.

I'd do it for Garnett. The Celtics got screwed in the lottery bigtime and there's nobody at the 5 spot that would make them a contender anytime soon.

Also, umm.. could Pierce and Kobe play together?

Re: NBA Official Off Season Thread

Would the Celts and the Lakers really trade? Oh Idea lmfao, this would be funnier than all hell... Do the Minnesota deal, then trade Wally Sczerbiak, Tony Allen, Delonte West and Brian Scalabrine to the Lakers for Kobe.... Your Celtics starting 5

C Kendrick Perkins
PF Kevin Garnett
SF Paul Pierce
SG Kobe Bryant
PG Rajon Rondo
Bench:
Leon Powe
Ryan Gomes
Kevinn Pinkney
Michael Olowakandi

Stripping a team down eh?
