| Best and Worst Divisions Just my thoughts on how one would Rank the 6 divisions 1-6. 1. AL Central, The Talent-Laden AL central, is by far the best division, Sure they have the Kansas City Royals in last place but look at it. The other four teams are the Chicago White Sox, who are slumping now, but have the potential. The Minnesota Twins who just played there last 29 games without the reigning AL batting champ Joe Mauer. The Detroit Tigers who by far have the best top to bottom lineup. Plus the first place Cleveland Indians who rocking and rolling. It's by far the Best Division. 2. NL West, Last year widely considered the worst division in the Majors now finds itself in second. With three teams in a virtual tie for first place they are right now the most competitive division. The Padres led by the likes of Jake Peavy, Trevor Hoffman, Chris Young, and Adrian Gonzalez, now look like the team to be beat. The Rockies are very young and raw, with Jeff Francis and Matt Holliday being the future hopefully might put a season together. In my mind the Giants are playing for Bonds, and that's it. Zito was vastly overpaid. 3. NL East, with the New York Mets, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Atlanta Braves and the Florida Marlins, they have four potential playoff teams. Unfourtunately for them only the Mets are proving themselves. Just like every other division this one is not without it's cellar dweller in the Washington Nationals who can only look forward to 2008 or 2009. 4. AL West, The red hot Los Angeles Angels are leading this division, with the Oakland Athletics hoping to continue the "Beaneball" era. The Mariners have all the right parts, and are putting them together it seems this year, and Texas claims the role of the cellar dweller what with being 10 games out of 3rd place. 5. AL East, The Red Sox are running, I don't think anyone's going to catch them. The Blue Jays are without closer B.J. Ryan, and The Yankees injury list seems to go on forever. Take away some of their injuries you might have a more competitive division. And Baltimore and Tampa Bay, well they're just Baltimore and Tampa Bay. 6. NL Central, Sure, the Cardinals won the world series last year. Sure The Astros were there two years ago. But top to bottom, this is the worst division. The Brewers who have the least amount of wins among first-place teams with 33. They have struggled over the past couple weeks and are still 5.5 ahead of the Cardinals. The Cubs, well ask GD. The Pirates as always have faded into obscurity early and probably won't find their way out. And the Astros look deflated and without anybody to protect Lance Berkman in the line-up. Comments? Addendums? Complaints? | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Best and Worst Divisions Doesn't the AL East have to be at least 3rd just because they have the Yanks and Sox? And please.. I don't want to hear what the Yanks record is because you all know they'll win at least 90 games. | |||||||||||||||
