Ive always thougth mike vick was over rated. I know he is a good qb and all and any team without a qb named peyton manning would love to have him, but come on, is the man really that good? I looked at some stats, he has been playing for 7 years, after i looked at his, i looked at david carrs stats. He has been playing for 6. David Carr gets a lot of hate, and now he is a back up for carolina. Check this out...

I have to leave work there was more i wanted to put down. But ohh well. The point is Vick is considered one of the best players in the NFL, and Carr is alnmost a joke to some people but yet look at the stats.. I know Vick runs mroe so that explains the att but whatever.

I think people who really know football know Carr didn't get a fair shake in Houston. Their Offensive line has been terrible since they first filled out their roster in their inaugural season, and they never really addressed that problem. It's hard to be an effective QB when you're constantly running for your life.

Since Houston came into existence, they've been 1st, 17th, 7th, 1st, and 9th in sacks allowed. Pretty awful...

So yeah, Carr is not nearly as bad as people make him out to be...

I agree with this, and I'll also add that most people who really know football also don't consider Michael Vick a particularly outstanding quarterback. If anything, he's one of the most criticized players at his position (and I'm talking pre-dogfighting).

It'll be a shame this season if Vick gets suspended, the Falcons will have traded Schaub, and Joey Harrington has to step in as a full-time starter again. (Actually, what do I care? Fuck Atlanta.)

The thing that always amazed me about Michael Vick is the fact that the Falcons tried running a West Coast offense with Vick (I forgot which coach it was, was it Mora Jr?). To paraphrase a popular sports writer (I think it was Bill Simmons, but I could be wrong), "The logical thing to do when you have an athlete with the most unique skill set at his position but poor accuracy is to put him in a highly-regimented offense that relies on accuracy and leaves little room for improvisation"

I think vick kinda got screwed a little by a coaching staff wanting Vick to adapt to a system rather than vice versa. If his coaches had been a little more willing to think outside the box, perhaps he could have had a better career to this point. Actually, what I mean is, he might have been able to carry over his early-career success into the prime of his career, which is right now.

As for the dogfighting stuff, that's just awful, and it's extremely low-class of him if he was involved

I don't think there's much to say about Vick compared to your prototypical QB. We know he's not accurate and we know he makes some silly decisions. With that said, what does it matter if he's finding ways to win the games?

It's true...but he's not winning games with the regularity that he was early on in his career, as evidenced by the 15-17 combined record the last two years

lol.. so true. I don't understand Grossman. I watched him a lot at Florida and while he wasn't the greatest QB in terms of skills, he was a warrior.. and I still respect that about him to this day. What I can't understand is how he can look soo good in one game and so God awful in the next. There's really no middle ground at all. He never has an "ok game".

Back to Vick, I actually hadn't realized that the Falcons record was that bad over the last two years. The way I remember it, the Falcons are usually near the top of that division aren't they? Shit.. maybe I'm losing it. No.. wait, I think one year they started off really good, right? and then they blew it..

I don't know. Why do you think Vick really hasn't progressed?
