Thaksin Shinawatra's attempt to take over Manchester City could be finalised by the end of next week.
The former Thai Prime Minister is the favourite to buy the Premiership club ahead of other interested consortiums.
Shinawatra and his advisors have spent several weeks putting together a bid for City, who recently sacked manager Stuart Pearce.
An indicative proposal was made in early May, while last week a formal offer for the club was tendered.
The reported £100million bid could now be completed in just over a week's time, according to Shinawatra's lawyer Noppadon Pattama.
"Everything is going smoothly," Pattama told Reuters.
"We hope the deal will be formally concluded by early June."
