We will start a draft next week. We will go one round at a time leaving us plaenty of room to finish it. We will give about 2 hours per pick to be made before I pick for you so keep a close ear to the forums. Think about who you would like, and get me a list of the choices that you would like to have ranked from 1-14 for the first round. Once we complete the first round you can pm me a list for the second round to make sure that when you're time is up you get the next pick on your list instead of being skipped over... If you take more than 2 hours to pick on your turn and you have not sent in a list, you will be skipped over and the draft will continue. You can make your pick at anytime after your 2 hours on the clock, but there is a chance that someone else would have picked and possibly got a pick before you. SO make sure you get your pick in, and get me a list as insurance just in case things move quickly and u miss your time. We will completely draft one round before moving to the next one. If you haven't picked within 24 hours of the 14th person in the round... you will get the highest available player on the top 200 fantasy rankings as posted on www.nfl.com

The draft will open to the first player Monday, June 25th at 8:30 EST I will pm everyone a reminder and the draft order which will be pulled at random. I will assign every team a letter and have someone give me a letter. The first letter picked will be #1 pick, second letter picked will be #2, and so on.... until all teams (14) are set in order. The first round will go pick #1 - #14... the second round #14 - #1 and so on as well.

The starting roster will consist of 8 players as broken down below...There will be 6 back ups as well so the draft will be 14 rounds in all.

2 - Running Back (RB)
2 - Wide Receiver (WR)
1 - Tight End (TE)
1 - Kicker (K)
1 - Defensive Team

8 - All Positions (starters)
6 - All Positions (back ups)

Wow, this draft could take weeks, and yet we're all expected online within a 2-hour window at all times? Why can't we organize a real-time live draft?

With people overseas and such it would be hard to do during the week cause a lot of us pop in and out from work. This is actually part of the reason we are starting this early. We will cut it back to a one hour window if needed and if it gets really bad. I'll just have people send me thri top 14 picks for each round and do it somewhat automated... but I think for the first few rounds at least we'll be fine.

Wow, I just re-read the first post in this thread and realized you did say this draft was going to be around June-July. So much is going to change between now and training camp, then preseason. My picks would be a complete guessing game at this point because there are so many questions around the NFL now.

Is this "2 hour window" going to be during the weekends as well? And which times during the day (or night?) Because I'm not on Monks all that often except during the weekday.

basically a weekday thing. Most leagues start opening up around the end of June to start. The problem is if we do wait too much longer the only thing we can really do is an automated draft.

You basically will know your starters and such now. And we will be doing the trades and all of that good stuff so you can still do some tweaking to your team if you want.

Players are being ranked now and if it is going to be a complete guessing game now, then it will probably be that way later on as well, because like I mentioned... Most starters are all ready known and season schedules are posted.

If we do decide to wait I'm afraid we won't be able to get a draft done through monks... and getting everyone together fo a live draft won't be able to happen due to scheduling issues since we do have people from overseas playing. If anyone has any other ideas please speak now or forever hold your peace.
