Arsenal sign new Goalkeeper

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal will bring Poland goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to Emirates Stadium in the summer.

Skysports.com confirmed earlier in the week that the 22-year-old goalkeeper was close to joining The Gunners after undergoing a medical in London.

The Legia Warsaw keeper came under Wenger's gaze some time ago and he has now moved to wrap up a deal for a player he seemingly views as the long-term successor to Jens Lehmann.

"That will be done," Wenger told the club's official website. "He will be our new goalkeeper.

"He will join us next year, be in the squad and compete for a position.

"He is one for the future. We have identified him as having all the qualities to challenge here and be one of the future great goalkeepers for Arsenal."
Fabianski will vie with Lehmann and Manuel Almunia for a place in Wenger's plans.



Thankfully it's not Carson, Boruc or any of the other over-priced keeper's we've been linked with.

Carson is really good ... but i like Fabianski i seen a few vids hes a great shot stoper , and hes better than Boruc on the national team . lest just hope this isnt the only signing .

Kirean Richardson was really good 3 or 4 years ago now he cant even make the bench at Man U when everyone is fit.

Point is, players dont always live up to their potential. Wenger obviousall decided Fabianski has a better chance than Carson or anyone else he was supposidly looking at.
