| MLB: Paul Bako makes his way on 15 day DL KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Royals placed backup catcher Paul Bako, who has a partially torn right oblique muscle, on the 15-day disabled list after Friday night's 9-4 victory over the Minnesota Twins.
Bako was injured during batting practice on Thursday. Bako was hitting .230 with seven RBI in 34 games.
The Royals called up catcher Paul Phillips from Triple-A Omaha.
The 29-year-old Phillips was hitting .249 with eight home runs and 32 RBI in 69 games with Omaha. Phillips hit .269 in 23 games with the Royals last season.

Well This hurts the struggleing royals alot becuase now they have to start Phillips everyday and keep what they doing like switching off and one might play DH. This effects there line up when would DH but I dont think KC cares as much as they would if they were in the race for the divsion or wild card.
