It has been an unlucky time for the Gunners as of late. I fully expected them to beat Blackburn the other week in the FA Cup, and again last night I thought they would have brushed past PSV, especially being at home. I can't really comment too much on their performances as of late since the only matches i've seen them in were the two cup matches against Blackburn, but maybe Mr Wenger will rue fielding a second string side out against Chelsea now?

Re: Wenger rues horrendous results

It depends I guess. If he genuinely believes football is truly about the beautiful game and not honours as a solitary target, then I should have thought he's fine with his decision regarding the League Cup.

He's at a club where he is not under pressure through lack of honours in the last few years, and I think most people see that within a year or two they could be on the verge of something truly glorious era for their club.

He'll be as mad as hell that they have spurned their opportunities this season, but if he's looking at the bigger picture (which I suspect he is) then he won't be peturbed come the end of the season so long as they retain their Champions League spot.

Re: Wenger rues horrendous results

I dont mind not winning trophies just so long as we are competing for them i happy enough. Obviousally id rather we win them but i wont complain. I believe in Wenger as does the board. If we can keep the majority of this squad together for a good while over the next 3 to 5 years we should be back in the top 2 and really challangeing for the champions league.

The only thing i regret is two weeks ago we could have won a treble, now we are out of them all, and its only March .
