| Double standards? Cork City want to sign Colin Healy but he has already played for two clubs this season (sounds familar to an argentinian in england), rarely played for the second club in that time (again familar), Cork City ask for permission to sign him, permission denied. What i want to know is why were Liverpool allowed but Cork City not? Its the exact same situation except Liverpool are a big club and Cork City arent. I said at the time it was a bad decision to let Liverpool sign Mascherano because something like this would happen and now it has. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Double standards? Liverpool got around it because of the dates of the seasons in Brazil. The ruling says that no player can play for more than two clubs in the same season. The Brazilian League was ending at the time of the transfer window not starting like the Premier League so he was actually playing in the Brazilian League last season, not this season. Does that make sense? Its difficult to explain. Mascherano played in the 2005-2006 season for Corinithians and joined Liverpool to play in the 2006-2007 season but the Brazilian season ends in August which obviously when the Premier League starts so technically he has only played for West Ham THIS season. | ||||||||||||||
