All right, so with a few weeks left in the off-season, I thought I'd combine both threads together just because it's so short of a time period. So until the regular season starts you'll see this being used a off-season thread. But once we see the regular season open, Tom or I will change the title so it's right.
So, discuss the hot stove reports, trade rumors, standings, upcoming games, theories, rivalries, predicting games each day and what not, the impending breaking of records, and any other news and etc. Enjoy.

He'll wear down. I love how the Royals' fans acted like they won the world series. Must be because it'll be about the last time they'll have reason to cheer this season.
A-Rod on fire. But can he do it in the playoffs? To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Actually, if they can keep all their prospects, the Royals might actually be good in a few years.
Mark Teahan played really well when they brought him up last year, Alex Gordon is considered one of the best hitting prospects in the game, and I've heard some good things about their first baseman Ryan Shealy and center fielder David DeJesus.
If Meche is for real (which I dont really believe, but we'll see) and they can get one or two more starters, they might be a feisty team down the line

I'm sorry I just don't see it happening. I know some think the Royals may have turned over a new page with the big money they handed to Meche but I don't trust them.
Mets make Cardinals 0-2 . I'm really impressed with how the Mets are playing and hope it doesn't stop.
No pitching.

Although it's early, the Mets pitching has been pretty awesome thus far.
Team ERA of 1.38, and the starters have only given up 6 ER in 38 innings pitched (6 1/3 IP per start).
Obviously, the law of averages will take hold and the Mets will give up a higher number of runs per game as the year goes on, but the staff might actually be somewhat servicable.
Plus, the Mets have the best line-up in the National League.

Obviously, I was thrilled to see the Braves take two from the Mets this weekend. Reminded me of how we used to own them prior to last year. The best part about the Braves 5-1 start? Chipper and Andruw haven't done anything. They're due to heat up.
Funny thing I read in an article about fantasy owners hastily dropping Royals 3B Alex Gordon after a 1-for-22 start:
