NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Well since the season is almost over. Might as well start a thread since as it seems the season might become rather exciting down the strech and all. Anyways. Talk about the season, your gripes, the instant replay system, all your teams injuries and any shocks in here. Enjoy.

The NBA playoffs will be discussed in this thread. Thanks

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

How bout those Mavericks? Holy shit. Are we in for another 60-win season and failure in the playoffs or will they actually get it done this time?

Edit: Same with the Suns.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Mavs? Suns? Come on. It's all about the RAPTORS, baby!

But seriously, they're running away with the division, and it's not unrealistic to think they could end up with the #2 seed in the East. Not that they'll win a championship or anything, but that team is flat out fun to watch (and I'd normally never watch NBA basketball).

Bryan Collangelo has done a magnificent job thus far.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Yeah nice Canadian input there with the Raps. They're doin' great and everyone is loving it.

PS: Mavs and Suns again. Always comes down to this. Phoenix has been my team since I was about 3 months old, and I "liked" Dallas for the years Nash was there, I HATE them now.

My hopes and dreams would be:

West Finals: Suns vs. Nuggets.
East Finals: Cavs. vs. Raps.

That's what I'm gonna' keep hoping for until it doesn't happen.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Sixth Man of the Year. Manu Ginobili?

Since going to the bench 13 days ago, he is averaging 20 ppg, 4 rebs, 4 asts, in 26 mpg.

Spurs are also on a 7 game winning streak with the average points margin being 20 in those 7 wins.

Can he be considered Sixth Man?

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

He would have had to be on the bench more often than starting the whole season.

D-Wade to get up one more time this season and play

Heat's guard Dwyane Wade announced Monday morning he will attempt to return this season.

Sidelined since dislocating his left shoulder Feb. 21 in Houston while reaching in for a steal against Rockets forward Shane Battier, Wade said he plans to undertake a vigorous rehabilitation program that could have him back for the final games of the regular season.

Heat's Wade plans on returning this season: South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Hopefully he's not putting his career at risk, but I have the feeling that he won't be comfortable playing his natural style of ball for some time. It doesn't make sense to sacrifice the beginning of next season for the end of this one.

i know it's a long shot for the New Jersy Nets to win the chpaionship this year. with Vince Carter thinking of signing with the Magic after the seasons over, i'm going to have to get back on NBA live 2006 and NBA 07:the life vol 2 and rebuild that team. I've been a fan of these guys since 2001 or was it 02 when they got swept out the finals. I'm still a fan of the Raps since i played NBK2K. that's when i first started to really pay attention to the NBA and remembering the small guys who do the dirty jobs. I've been a heavy fan with a few teams which are the Clippers, Raptors, Nets, and the Washinton Wizards, believe it or not i followed Popeye Jones for a while because he was on that team with Jordan. When he was playing and almost made the playoffs i've tried to recreate that type of team on my games since.

oh, sorry for getting off topic. i hope New Jeresy goes good after Carter's gone. hopefully he stays but in Orlando, family's alot closer to the team for him.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Dude. You can't be a Raptors fan AND a Carter fan. That's sacrilege.
