He is not listed on the current roster, so you may be right.

Park the old car that I love the best
Inspections due and it won't pass the test
Funny how I have to put it to rest
And someday I will join it.

Re: NFL 2007 Offseason Discussion Thread

Fucking A.. I've missed the whole thread. Just caught up on reading it all. Anyway, I have nothing but good things to say about the niners so I won't even comment on them right now.

Danny, Wes Welker was mainly a return guy in Miami for a couple years but because of injuries and whatever the crap he got in there and played his ass off. He's another slash guy, kinda reminds me of Randle El or something.

I can see it now. Pats get rid of Troy Brown. Fans bitch. Welker returns a punt for a TD to win a playoff game.

Re: NFL 2007 Offseason Discussion Thread

Welker was a very solid player in our fantasy league last year, since he caught a lot of passes (one point per) and amassed tons of return yardage (one point per 20 yards). That said, I played against him in our championship game, and he blew it for the other guy.

Anyway, Welker is a good pickup for any team, but trading a 2nd-rounder seems kind of steep, especially in a receiver-heavy draft like this one. He fits the mold of a Patriots receiver though: tiny, gritty, unlikely to score in the red zone.

Blitz (I can and will always call you that): for my money, the 49ers signed the best free agent in football this offseason, Nate Clements. You'd better hope Vernon Davis becomes a Gates-like #1 receiver at tight end, though, because Ashley Lelie is a stiff.

Re: NFL 2007 Offseason Discussion Thread

It's not so much Bellichick that rehabs these problem players it's the overall atmosphere that the organization has created in the locker room. Guys like Rodney Harrison, Super Sperm Boy, Bruschi would not let a punk like Moss come in and destroy the chemistry.

If they can tame Corey Dillon they can tame Moss. And if they can't, they'd just get rid of him. They were quick to let Dillon go this off-season as he became increasingly nasty with the media this year and he apparently was bitching about playing time. Sayonara, go have fun on some loser team.

Bottom line is this: There really hasn't been a real Super Bowl Champion besides the Pats in this century. The Colts? That's a joke. The Steelers? pphhhtt.... The Ravens? nope, don't think so. The Bucs? hahahaha, that's high comedy right there. Truth be told, the Patriots have had the best team every season, beginning in '01. They just sometimes decide to let the other kids play and have some fun. They will win the Super Bowl again this year, that's pretty much a given.

If there was a Peter Gammons for football coverage, I'd be him. I'm definitely not John Clayton.

Agreed. That is what makes this thread so entertaining sometimes.

Now all we need are some Cowboys comments from Slim and we'll have the whole homer bunch here. haha

P.S. This would include me for the Hawks and Tom for the Giants.

Yeah, I can't stand Lelie. All his does is bitch and complain about playing time, this, that, whatever..and then he doesn't do anything.

I still believe Davis will be huge though.

Football Patriots add Donte Stallworth

The New England Patriots have added former Eagle WR Donte Stallworth. Will that be an effect to the Patriots 2007 season. Stallworth with at least 19.2 yards per catch, with the Eagles, will that happen with the Pats? The Pats have a good WR team this, year. I hope they make it to the playoffs.
