Melbourne Victory coach Ernie Merrick is not concerned by suggestions from John Kosmina that his Adelaide side has the edge heading into the second leg of Sunday's major semi-final at Telstra Dome.
Speaking to the media on his arrival back in Melbourne, Merrick said he was happy with his team's 0-0 draw in the opening semi-final leg, and that Kosmina, whose team has not won any of the Hyundai A-League finals it has contested after the past two years, had his own worries.
"John is John," Merrick told the media.. "He's played four finals matches (as a coach) and hasn't won one yet, so he's under a bit of pressure there."
Merrick said the only pressure his team is under is of its own volition, and that he is not concerned by the fact that his side hasn't won in it spast four games.
"We put ourselves under pressure because we want to win the championship. We haven't lost a final yet, and we're pretty keen to go all the way."
"My comment to the players before (last Sunday's) game was 'pressure is when you're second-bottom in the league, you've hardly won any games for the year and you're playing New Zealand at home in front of your home crowd' which is where we were last year."
"Now, we've gone through the league hardly losing a game, won the premiership, we're in the finals, played away from home and (finished) nil-all. So I said 'boys, if you don't enjoy your football now in the finals then you'll never enjoy it'. "
