Hull skipper Ian Ashbee headed home 18 minutes from time to rescue a crucial point for the Championship strugglers.

Palace looked to have earned former Tigers boss Peter Taylor a win over his old club when Carl Fletcher drilled in a stunner from 30 yards on 50 minutes.

But Ashbee rose unmarked to head in Dean Marney's corner to seal a draw.

Hull's Dean Windass hit the post with a free-kick and headed against the bar late in either half, while Shefki Kuqi missed a sitter for Palace on the hour.
