This would seem to be a stretch, considering Schottenheimer withdrew his name from consideration for the Dolphins' head coaching job. The Jets wouldn't have to allow Schottenheimer to make a lateral move.
This could be a good move. Brian Schottenheimer has done well with the Jets offense and with Chargers offensive Coordinator leaving to take the Dolphins job, he could be a good fit...

Thoughts?

This sounds like an awesome idea, like farther like son. Both coaches do well and I think with Brain running a better offense he will do much better and have success. I hope he moves to the Chargers, it would be not only cool but also awesome to watch.

My only worry is that if something dramastically changed and someone got hurt like LT or Rivers and it really affected the offense dramatically could he regroup them or would his father have to fire him?

He should do good, until he gets a head coach job.....I think it will work out well, though he is not as good as Cameron by any means
