Stallworth rallies Saints past Eagles

NEW ORLEANS (Jan. 13, 2007) -- Deuce McAllister delivered on the promise his more-celebrated running mate made before this season, carrying the New Orleans Saints where they've never been before -- one game from the Super Bowl.

McAllister and rookie sensation Reggie Bush led the Saints past the Philadelphia Eagles 27-24 and into the NFC title game, a reversal of fortune for the team and the city.

To constant chants of "DEUCE!" or "REG-GIE! REG-GIE!" the Saints rallied with an assortment of big plays that even featured backup tight end Billy Miller, a rarely used target. But it was the veteran McAllister with his two touchdowns and team playoff mark of 143 yards rushing, and the rookie Bush with his collection of magnificent moves, that made the difference in the raucous Superdome.

All season, the Saints have been at the heart of New Orleans' revival from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Now, the franchise best known for four decades of failure, for the 'Aints and fans wearing paper bags, will either play at Chicago or host Seattle, depending on the outcome of the other NFC division round game Sunday.

I think this is the team to beat in the NFC.. They are seriously stacked and using there players in a good way.. Not to mention Payton is a great coach... I picked this team to win the Superbowl, and right now, it looks good.

Stallworth is on the Eagles. And yes the Saints got mad talent, can't wait to see Horn back next week. But did you see Reggie get "JACKED UP" on the first or second play?

That was a awesome game. It had be off my seat mostly the whole game and had a outcome like the seahawks/dallas game last week. Both Bush and Deuce had awesome games on the ground and were a main reason they won. Defense was alright but nothing great and yeah Brees played like he usually does.

Oh, here we go with the "refs" bullshit. The quickest way to make yourself look like a punk bitch is crying about the officiating. You lost. Deal with it. Grow a set and take it like a man. Jesus Christ...... :w/e:

I don't blame the refs entirely the eagles couldn't move the ball well and rellied on big plays but I saw plenty of holding calls missed for the saints and lots of the holding called on teh eagles weren't there how do I know I'm a trained ref myself so I know what qualifies as a holding and what doesnt

I have nothing against the saints but no one can deny they get a little leway against every team they play at home bc of the cinderalla story they have going for them, didn't play a home game last year this year top of their division and second in the nfc o my pitter patter

That inks is an eye killer Slick, this was a good game, and I'm happy the Saints are continuing their run, though I don't know if they'll be able to go in Chicago and beat them...
