East Stirlingshire's Paul Stewart struck late on to complete a surprise victory over Division Three leaders East Fife at Bayview Stadium.

Shire goalkeeper Anton Nugent had to tip a header from his own defender, Karl Thywissen, over the crossbar.

And new East Fife striker Stevie Nicholas shot wide on his debut.

But trialist Joe Savage skipped past two defenders to score against his former club before Mark McKenzie broke clear to set up Stewart to fire home.
