Richard Lambert scored the only goal of the game to give Bristol Rovers victory over his old club Rochdale.

The visitors went ahead when Sammy Igoe's cross was turned into the area by Craig Disley and Lambert had the task of finishing from four yards.

Dale hit the woodwork twice, first through Glenn Murray and then when Adam Rundle's 18-yard shot struck the bar.

Rovers went close when Lambert had his drive saved by Matt Gilks, while Igoe saw red for picking up two bookings.
