Chris Iwelumo's second-half penalty earned Colchester a point against Leicester at Layer Road.
Patrick McCarthy was adjudged to have tugged back Iwelumo inside the area and the striker slotted in the spot-kick.
Iain Hume gave City the lead when he collected a Matty Fryatt ball to tuck home from close range.
Referee Danny McDermid showed Karl Duguid red before realising he had not been booked and changed it to yellow and he also disallowed three goals.

Colchester manager Geraint Williams felt his side were fortunate to be awarded the penalty from which they equalised:
"I have watched it back with Leicester boss Rob Kelly and we both felt it was soft.
"I can understand them being a little disapointed but I am not one to cry when decisions go against us.
"A point at home is not exactly terrible - and now we have 34 points out of 36 here which is not bad."

Leicester manager Rob Kelly blamed rookie referee Danny McDermid for his side's failure to beat Colchester:
"It was his first Championship game and it was a bit much for him," Kelly said.
"Everyone in the stadium knew something was coming and that penalty decision has changed the game. It's his first game but it's our living."
