PRAGUE (AFP) - Czech international defender Pavel Mares will rejoin league leader's Sparta Prague after four years with Russian club Zenit, the Czech club has announced.
The 30-year-old, who played for the Czech national team during its Euro 2004 campaign and was in the 2006 World Cup squad, is expected to sign a contract with the Prague club until mid-2009, the news agency CTK said.
"Pavel is a very experienced footballer who will certainly bring us something," Sparta trainer Michal Bilek said.
Mares left Sparta Prague in 2002 for Zenit.
