RALEIGH, N.C. -- Carolina Hurricanes center Kevyn Adams was scheduled to have wrist surgery Tuesday and will miss up to two weeks.
The 32-year-old Adams has played 162 consecutive games for the defending Stanley Cup champions dating back to 2004, when he missed eight games with a knee injury.
Adams, an alternate captain for the Hurricanes, had his right wrist broken in June by a Chris Pronger shot in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals.
Adams has two goals and two assists in 34 games this season and his playing time has diminished recently.
The Hurricanes are also without captain Rod Brind'Amour, who has missed the past four games with a lower body injury. He was among the league's scoring leaders before the injury and the team was 1-3 in his absence.

Carolina is struggling to win, and the season is nothing like next year, if they don't start working together a bit more, their Stanley Cup repeat chances will be gone...quicker than what they are going...
Thoughts?
