Giants O'Hara Resting Knee

Quote:
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Dec. 13, 2006) -- Bob Whitfield has been the gift that keeps on giving for the New York Giants, not to mention for the reporters he frequently entertains with his salty monologues on any number of non-football-related topics.

The Giants were more interested in his blocking ability when they signed him in 2005, and in both seasons since then, the veteran tackle has filled in ably when a starter has gone down.

With at least one and potentially three offensive linemen sidelined for a crucial division game Dec. 17 against Philadelphia, the task of improving on a shoddy performance in the first game against the Eagles might fall squarely on New York's backups.

In addition to Whitfield, who will start at left tackle while Luke Petitgout recovers from a broken leg, Rich Seubert could step in for center Shaun O'Hara, who sprained his ankle Dec. 10 in the victory at Carolina and missed practice today.

Right tackle Kareem McKenzie left the Panthers game with a neck injury, but X-rays were negative and he practiced today. If he cannot play, journeyman Grey Ruegamer would fill in.

There is seemingly no limit to the combinations the Giants can devise on the offensive line. Seubert is practically an offensive line unto himself, and has played every position, including tight end. Against Carolina, David Diehl moved from guard to tackle when McKenzie got hurt; Ruegamer can play at center or guard.
Wow, just another Gaints player resting themself and not playing in a game. They do have the most injuries and it will start killing them even more sometime.

Thoughts?

This is why when people say that there team is better or that Giants suck this year, Im like do you follow football?
When healthy the Giants are a Top 5 Offensive team, Defense is another issue.
