Drake was suspended two games without pay by the league on Friday for delivering a hit to the head of Detroit defenseman Brett Lebda in the Blues' 4-3 overtime setback one day earlier.
Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, Drake will forfeit $26,829.26, which goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. He will miss St. Louis' games against Columbus on Saturday and Chicago on Tuesday.
With 5:03 remaining in the first period, Drake came in high on Lebda behind the Red Wings' net, appearing to hit the defenseman with an elbow.
Drake did not receive a penalty on the play and scored a shorthanded goal in the first minute of the second session to give the Blues a 3-0 lead, while Lebda sat out the remainder of the opening period before returning for the second. | Wow this had to be a pretty good hit to get suspended two games, I didn't see the hit, but wow...
