| Mutts don't stand a chance with that geriatric pitching staff. Pedro's only good for 5 IP and who kows when he'll come back from his surgery. (or if he'll be any good). Traschl had more wins than him this year (ouch). Glavine was decent in 2006, but his best years are well behind him. Wagner is good until it matters (say it ain't So). Beltran was very good for 3 - 6 weeks in the summer and then tailed off (nice way to end a season with your highest paid and best player leaving the bat on his shoulder, that made me smile). Pitching will always win (and not making errors) when it matters most. The Cards got just enough pitching in the playoffs (don't ask how) and won despite having the worst record in the playoffs. | ||||||||||||||
