Wenger rules out a move for Bale

Despite a mounting injury list to his squad, manager Arsène Wenger insists that he is not tempted to bring promising left-back Gareth Bale to the Emirates.

A £10 million price tag slapped on by Southampton on the 17-year-old certainly hasn't helped reverse Wenger's decision.

Wenger is also confident that the Gunners have sufficient strength in-depth with Gaël Clichy and Armand Traore as the club's left-backs.

If necessary, utility man Mathieu Flamini can play in that position as well.

Wenger said: "I like the player (Bale) but as you know we have two left-backs here."

Re: Wenger rules out a move for Bale

Yeah, I don't think Bale will end up at Arsenal now. £10m is a lot for him, and they've already got a youthfull left back in Clichy, so there wouldn't be much sence in it.

If he does go before Wednesday, it'll probably be to Spurs. Since I can't really see Man Utd getting rid of Heinze to accomodate Bale. But who knows with Fergie!?
