Ray Parlour returns to Arsenal

Arsène Wenger has revealed that Ray Parlour will be returning to Arsenal - but only to regain match fitness.

The 33-year-old, who made 468 appearances for the Club between 1991 and 2004, has just been released by Middlesbrough and contacted the Frenchman about coming back to his old stomping ground to train. Wenger was more than happy to oblige but stressed that he would not be giving Parlour a contract.

“There is some truth in it,” Wenger told Arsenal TV Online. “He wants to get back to full fitness and I offered him the chance to come and practice with us. But I won’t be signing him.

“As you have seen last night at Tottenham we have some good young players in the middle of the park. We have put them in this competition to improve and players like Denilson did very well.”

Its not the first time either. When players leave on good terms (Parlour, Sidwell and co.) Wenger tells them they can come back if they are without a club until they get a new one. He did it for Manu Petit and Marc Overmars in recent years also. I cant imagine the same happening for a certin Mr. A. Cole tho. And not the striker the other one.
