Liverpool's chances of signing Real Madrid legend Raul seem remote as the Spaniard wants to end his career at the Bernabeu.
The 29-year-old striker has been linked with the Barclays Premiership club by some media outlets in Spain, but Raul, a product of the club's youth scheme, is keen to end his career where it started.
He told Real Madrid TV: "When there are defeats there are always many rumours but the only thing I am concerned about is the club (Real Madrid).
"I am very happy and content and I will carry on working as I have always done with the hope of finishing (at Madrid)."
Raul also expressed his sadness at the imminent departure of England midfielder David Beckham to LA Galaxy.
"When a team-mate goes it makes you sad," said the Spain international.
"David has been a great team-mate and a professional who has always given his best."

LMAO Benitez actually thought he had a chance of signing him?
Real Madrid or Liverpool. I know what 99% of people would pick.
Anyway Benitez was crying because Liverpool dont have enough funds for him (hes only spent over 100 million in 2 and a half years) but now hes linked with Raul? Whom would not come cheap and seeing as Benitez claimed he couldent afford 4 million for Denilson i dont think their was every any chance of this happeneing.

That is so wrong on so many levels... 99%? I really think not, every player is different, hell Luis Garcia chose Liverpool over Barcelona and they are better than Real Madrid.

maybe not 99 but take 100 random players from all over the world and most wouldent even consider Liverpool partially because most players would take the higher paying offer. Unless its a Steven Gerrard who is born and bread Liverpool, Real would be picked more.

If players are in it for the money then they shouldn't be at the top level, people are on Beckham's back for it, most players would pick the team that you are more likely to get a game and with the rotation system at Liverpool they are more likely to get a game. Ask Real players like Cassano or even Beckham himself.

Yeah Beckham isnt in for money, Bolton only offered guaranteed first team football whereas LA Galaxy offered a redicious amount of money (and we thought chelsea were bad?)

Liverpool and their fans can kiss my ass. They always moan about Chelsea spending a shit load of money yet never seem to notice that Benitez has spent a shit load on Spanish imports which have sucked ass and now they want Raul and are rubbing their hands that some Saudi sheik is buying the club.
^ Kinda agree.
Benitez was complaining that Wenger has spent more than liverpool could.
Agger (i think) cost more than the entire Arsenal back line!!!(Gallas didnt cost us anything, Clichy was 250,000, Eboue was 1m and Toure was 500,000).
Pennant cost 8m, Rosicky cost 8m.
Crouch cost 7m, Van Persie and Ade cost 7m combined!
Do your math first Rafa.
OK, but your kids team that did us last week? How about you compare some of their price tags to what we put out. Theo? Fabergas? Julio if and when you sign him? Don't confuse first team spending and the amount you throw about for the greats of tommorrow, and before you defend Arsene's youth buying record take a look at a young scouse lad who cost you 10M.
