Mancini: I would sign Sheva

Mancini: I would sign Sheva

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini insists he would sign Andriy Shevchenko and Antonio Cassano if they became available.

Shevchenko has struggled for form since moving to England and Mancini admits he would glady bring the hotshot back to Italy, if given the chance.

After revealing his desire to sign Real Madrid outcast Cassano, the Italian said: "Shevchenko? I would take him as well!"

The Ukraine international has scored just three league goals for the Blues and could be tempted by a return to Serie A.

And Mancini also showed his interest in Cassano who appears to have no future at the Bernabeu having fallen out with Madrid coach Fabio Capello.

"Personally, I would take him," he said.

"He has extraordinary technical ability, although I understand that it is difficult to integrate him into a squad halfway through a season.

"There are advantages to signing a player like him and his return would only be good for Italian football."

Be interesting to see if Siebneft FC (Chelski) have a figure in mind that they would accept to take Shevchenko off their hands.

I wouldn't be too happy about selling him in this window if I were a fan of theirs though. Kalou doesn't look too good yet, and Drogba is their only other centre forward. If Drogba got injured they'd have no one for their Champions League campaign. It's unlikely they'd find anyone decent who wouldn't be cup tied in Europe. (Sir Alex did superbly in that regard!).

Bah.. Mancini would love to sign him? So would 90% of football managers around. Inter Milan are always saying they want so and so, and very rarely get them, or make a bid for them.

Shevchenko been struggling so far, but it's a big lifestyle change for him so it's to be expected. Remember Drogba didn't do too well in his first season.. but look at him now.

Yeah anyone in italy would buy sheva as he was great in italy, and it looks that the world cup took its strain and he has found the EPL difficult to adjust too. And also i hope they take cassano off us, as he only a wasted talent due to his attitude.

Inter do have huge spending capacity, much more so presently than any other Italian club. I could see Sheva going there at the season end, but surely not now for the reasons I've listed above
