Me and a mate have decided to go to the Ashes series in 2009...hence where our finances are going now. Even though its so far away, im just curious as to how long before the games do your tickets usually become available, do they usually sell out quickly and how much does it cost approx for general admission tickets?

Hey Thirty, games usually sell out the weekend days rapid but the first 2 days are usually easy to get tickets for. Old Trafford Test last year was £22 for day two admission and I bought the ticket about a week before (not sure just how long before the matches they go on sale). E-bay was healthely stocked up on tickets last year too so their should be a day where you completely fail to get a ticket.

That's certainly a bit cheaper than I remember it to be Kjaymeister.

This is great news though Eric, when will you know for sure and do you know which grounds you intend to try and go to.

The northern grounds are easier to get tickets for than The Oval or Lords, which are usually sold out before they go on offer!

The tickets go on sale usually in September - October - November the year before (so 2008). I'll help you out closer the time, because I've been to pretty much all of them before they send me the tickets listings when they come out.

I went to all 3 days of the England/Pakistan test at OT last year and it was very enjoyable and I believe it was £17 per day will be a bit dearer for the Ashes am also thinking about getting tickets for the test match against The West Indies this year

Cheers, thanks guys. Me and my mate are hoping by some chance of Foley, to make it to every day or every game, kinda do the full tour. But considering the unlikeliness of that happening, i think we'd settle for the Lords test and the 1st and 5th test (Lord's may also be the first test)

Lol nah. My mates got rellies over there, accomodation is sorted for the most part :P

And we're saving up quite a bit of money to do this, thats why we're planning 2 yrs in advance.
