Instant Classic! Fiesta Bowl!

Holy fuck is this game unreal. Boise and Oklahoma. Boise as the big underdog got out to a huge lead and then blew it completely.. but then pulled off a miraculous hook and lateral play to tie it with 7 seconds left.

Now they're in overtime. Boise just scored on a halfback pass. Fucking sick.

They might go for two here..

Edit: Boise wins! Another trick play!

I only watched parts of it, but it was a great game.

Boise just pulled off the upset, 43-42.

Yeah, this game was fucking awesome. Boise almost blew it though. They had things under control until that punt that hit the Boise player's leg. That gave Oklahoma a spark. Also, the terrible INT that the Boise QB threw nearly cost them the game. It was nice to see that he was able to put that behind him.

And, how awesome was it that Ian Johnson proposed to his girlfriend during the post-game interview. She was pretty cute!!!

Oh my god I just watched the highlights on Fox Sports.

That TD at the end of the 4th was just unreal. One of the best plays Ihave ever seen, I mean seriously, awesome play.

Why does no one try that shit in the NFL.

Good job that happened because the Boise State QB would have probably jumped off a tall building if that interception had cost them the game. Where the hell was he throwing? On the reel there is no one anywhere near the CB who intercepted.

It looked to me like the receiver ran the wrong route. The QB was expecting him to run an out pattern, and he just kept running straight.

As for the hook-and-lateral play, I think there are a few reasons why teams don't try it in the NFL.

1. The defenses are usually quick enough to stop that play. Either the defender gets tackled shortly after getting the ball, or the guy who gets the pitch still has his guy close enough to him to tackle him

2. Extremely high downside risk. If the lateral isnt executed perfectly, it ends up being a fumble and the other team may recover it.

3. The Boise State players and coaches admitted that they run this play in practice all the time, and that it NEVER works in practice. There are so many things that need to be perfect for it to work. The QB needs adequate protection, the receiver needs to get open enough to make the pitch, the receiver who gets the pitch needs to get away from his man, they have to make a clean exchange of the ball, the timing needs to be perfect. It's a very difficult play to run.

Well, they ran it to perfection at the right time! Haha. It was insane. Then you had the WR option pass for the score in OT and the other play to Johnson for the 2-point conversion.

The coach has balls.

Edit: There seriously needs to be a playoff. I could get into it, but based on what Boise has done, also defeating Hawaii and blowing out Oregon St., they are a legit team.
