Liverpool Vs Watford Preview 23/12

I like this thing God has started doing (previewing all Arsenal's games) so I'll be puting up my own previews for Liverpool, they might be cut & paste for the most part but I hope to add commentary on a few too. How about Crock, Mikk and TD get on board with City, Black Cats and Palace respectivley??

Liverpool set to be unchanged
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez could name an unchanged line-up for the visit of Premiership bottom side Watford on Saturday.

The midweek postponement of Liverpool's Carling Cup quarter-final against Arsenal meant all Benitez's players have had an unexpected but welcome rest.

Left-sided duo Fabio Aurelio and Stephen Warnock both played for the reserves on Wednesday and could come into contention as Benitez looks to spread the load over a busy festive period.

Liverpool (from): Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia, Agger, Riise, Luis Garcia, Gerrard, Alonso, Pennant, Fowler, Crouch, Bellamy, Kuyt, Gonzalez, Guthrie, Dudek, Paletta, Aurelio, Warnock.

Christmas is always a weird time for a manager, does he field weaker teams against lower clubs and save his stars for the hard games or does he make sure of the 3 points by fielding the best against the worst opposistion? Hey some managers even try to field all 4 games at 100% but I always think this is suicidle for the cup competetions that start to get serious in Jan, esp for Liverpool facing Arsenal twice. I think Rafa has four reasonably easy games over the festive period for us with Bolton's visit being the hardest, and with Arsenal waiting twice in the new year, a Champ League draw against Barca and the big games that could change our season in the first two months of next year (Man U and Chelsea) I would try to rest the big guns as much as I could. Injuries now could mean a horrofic season for us

I had a sig, once.

Tell you what i'll do, i normally put a thread up previewing all the games from the weekend and if you want you can put your thoughts in that or make a new thread.

This is what i have been doing:http://www.monksdiner.com/showthread.php?t=34764

Just haven't done it yet this week.

As for this match, Liverpool should win comfortably.

They have been turning it on the last few games and Watford are really poor and i'd expect another Liverpool win.

Respectfully, as a Liverpool fan, we aint turned on that much. We've just played three really poor teams on the bounce. I still feel we'll drop silly points to battling sides, Rafa just hasnt equipped us to deal with physical presence, the Boltons, Sheff Utd's and Chelsea's of this world slap us all ove the place, we need a battling edge and a good half gallon of pure guts yet.

You should still have no problem beating Watford though, they really haven't equiped themselves well and it shows.

And this is for all the other games on Saturday: http://www.monksdiner.com/showthread.php?t=35322
