| Alfonso Soriano traded?? Interested?: Mets, Cardinals, Yankees Summer blockbuster? Jun 3 - According to the Washington Post, the Nationals would prefer that Alfonso Soriano be part of their future. But, if not, he now commands the highest possible trade value. In a month or so, when trades get made, the Nats may have some leverage. Soriano remains a potent offensive force, and his contract expires at the end of this season. He clearly prefers second base over left field, but is realistic about how his current experience will affect his marketability as a free agent. "If I like it, I got two choices next year: play left field or second base," he told the newspaper. "I work hard every day to try to help my team and to try to get better." The Yankees, Mets and Cardinals all could have interest (either in the outfield or at second base), and many other teams might decide the same by July, the Washington Times reports. Nationals GM Jim Bowden wants multiple top prospects in exchange for Soriano. Source: ESPN.com | |||||||||||||||

| If anyone is going to get Alfonso Soriano then I think that it is going to be the Yankees for the obvious reason that they have the most money. | ||||||||||||||

| as mets fan i am thrilled to see them as the only nl east possibility that espn listed. i severly doubt that the nats would let him go. he may prefer 2nd, but he is thriving no less and i actually think i remember some espn analysts comparing him to mr. pujols. | ||||||||||||||
