Warne to retire from International Cricket

Australia legend Shane Warne looks poised to announce he will retire from international cricket after the Ashes.

Test cricket's top wicket-taker will confirm his decision on Thursday, TV station Channel Nine said.

Warne is one wicket away from becoming the first bowler in Test history to claim 700 wickets, with the fourth Test starting on 26 December. Hampshire are still confident the spinner will captain the county for the remaining two years of his contract.

Thoughts on the great mans career?

This has completely taken me off guard. I expected him to be stubborn enough to keep playing until past the eventual retirements of McGrath, Hayden, Langer and co.

This is a huge loss for the side, with nobody near his level ready as a replacement.

Best memory of him was his hatrick at the MCG where Booney takes a speccie at Forward Short Leg to complete the hatrick.

I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.
