PRIDE New Year's Eve Main Event, More Fighters Set
PrideOfficial.com, the official Japanese website of PRIDE Fighting Championships has announced the main event for the company's upcoming show on New Year's Eve, traditionally the biggest annual event for PRIDE.

It will be the undisputed Heavyweight champion of PRIDE, Fedor Emelianenko, taking on former K-1 Grand Prix champion - Mark Hunt.

Fighters confirmed for the show, but yet to have matches announced (updated list):

-Mirko CroCop
-Vanderlei Silva
-Josh Barnett
-Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
-Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
-Dan Henderson
-Takanori Gomi
-Hidehiko Yoshida
-Kazuyuki Fujita

-Denis Kang
-Ricardo Arona
-Gilbert Melendez

-Tatsuya Kawajiri

The following is an updated look at the OFFICIAL line-up for PRIDE Shockwave thus far:

-Fedor Emelianenko vs. Mark Hunt
-Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura
-Takanori Gomi (c) vs. Mitsuhiro Ishida (non-title)
-Gilbert Melendez vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri
-Joachim Hansen vs. Shinya Aoki

The story regarding the offer from UFC is real, although the amount isn't in millions like it has been reported. CroCop's decision will be known by Sunday.

"Like any fighter I'm also on the market. Offer from UFC is slightly better than PRIDE's, but I haven't decided if I will change 'jerseys'. Only thing I can say right now is that I'm not sure if I'll fight in Saitama on NYE."

Wow, looks like one of the best MMA cards this year. Pride always puts on great shows. UFC could learn a thing or do from that.
