woo hoo....a bunch of meaningless games that are the reason why there is no college football playoff!

90% of these are games that no one cares about unless one of their teams is playing in it (like the New Orleans Bowl).
College football needs a playoff system, but they don't want to give up all the money they get from these Bowls.

I just don't know how they can institute a playoff system...what would happen to the long and storied tradition of the San Diego County Credit Union Bowl?
By the way, the "Bell Helicopters Armed Forces Bowl" is sponsored by Bell Helicopter, which is a subsidiary of Textron, one of the companies that I cover at work. Not that anyone would really care, but I thought it was really cool. What's also cool is that it's one of the only sponsorships that actually makes sense, because they make helicopters for the armed forces, hence the Armed Forces Bowl

I myself think the NCAA division 1A should have a sixteen team playoff system with each conference champion: ACC, SEC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, Conference USA, Sun Belt, MAC, WAC being awarded an automatic bid and having six open bids to top ten teams. Here in Georiga our high school teams have eight reigions with seven to tweleve teams in the regions. Anyway, our regions send four teams to the playoffs every year thus sending sixty four teams to the playoffs. Point I am trying to make is sixty four teams are way to damn many so thats why I would only have one team from each conference because we know that Ohio State vs. Wyoming in the first round is going to be pretty academic.
By the way if Michigan doesn't get the BCS #2 spot I hope they play Flordia in a BCS bowl so they can shut up all the SEC fans(not on the forum but actually where I live) around here that are pissing and moaning. Come on Gators beat Arkansas so you can take a brutal ass whippin' to the Wolverines who by the way easily defeated a Vanderbuilt team that Flordia only beat by five points.

Saliva Mark, why bring up that Michigan destroyed Vandy? Did you know that Michigan only defeated Ball State by a touchdown? Did you know that Ohio State only beat Illinois by a touchdown?
You're a smart guy so I'll assume you do know that, which would show that any team can have a poor performance no matter who they might be playing. The key is to win the games, and that's what Florida has done.
Everyone killed Spurrier back in the day when the Gators would beat everyone by 50 and throwing the ball in the 4th quarter, but now style points matter?
I don't buy it, can't have it both ways. Win the games is all I can ask and for Florida, there is no doubt in my mind that they have played a tougher schedule then the Wolverines.
I'm not saying they should get in over the Wolverines but, I think the schedule speaks for itself. Michigan's key moment of the year was a loss. Yeah, they played well, but they lost.. and that's supposed to be the reason they deserve to get in?
You could bring up that they beat Notre Dame, but that'd be more impressive if USC didn't just also have a field day. Notre Dame isn't good. They didn't beat anyone this year.
Florida played... Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, and now Arkansas.
Who besides, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Wisconsin did Michigan play? The Big Ten was awful this year.
Again, I'm not saying who should get in, and of course, if USC beats UCLA this week.. this discussion won't matter.
Actually Tom... I hate to say this but the San Diego County Credit Union Bowl does have a tradition already, it is the official bowl game of Army/Navy If both teams are bowl eligible they will play each other. Unless one of them is in the Top 4. Also the Armed Forces bowl used to be known as the Fort Worth Bowl
