Carlos Lee agreed to a 100 million dollar deal with the Astros. This deal makes him the highest paid Astro ever. The Astros also signed Veteran Pitcher Woody Williams.

In a six-player trade the Milwaukee Brewers recieved C Johnny Estrada, P Greg Aquino, and P Claudio Vargas, in exchange for P Doug Davis, P Dana Eveland, and OF Dave Krynzel. The Diamondbacks were the other team involved in this trade.

The Cubs new FA acquisition Alfonso Soriano is seeking permission to play Winter Ball.

I don't know, would you want him to risk an injury in winter ball? I know a lot of players do it, but not all players just signed an 8 year contract with your team worth $136M.

As for Carlos Lee, I think it was a great signing by the 'Stros. He's probably not worth as much as they gave him, but in this year's market overpaying has been a theme. They needed another bat in the worst way, so you throw him in there with BerKman, etc. it'll be a great help. Lance is one of the best hitters in all of baseball, pretty soon he was going to start seeing Bonds, Howard, whoever kind of treatment if they didn't plug someone in to provide some protection.
