Theo Walcott has revealed to the Guardian that he is willing to get stuck in and fight back against opponents that try to kick him off the pitch.
The former Southampton teenager revealed that he had been kicked by opposing players who couldn't handle his runs, but he just got up and got on with it.
Walcott said: "Physically, I don't go for challenges that much, I'm not one of those sorts of players.
"But when I was being kicked by a Wolves right-back I went straight back at him.
"And I will always challenge for a header - I've got a good spring."
The 17-year-old also revealed that he is feeling right at home during training and that the senior England players have made him feel right at home.
Walcott was just breaking into Southampton's first team when he went on a training trip to Scotland to play against Kilmarnock and Motherwell.
Walcott added: "We went to Scotland and I'd never taken part in first team training.
"But I felt really comfortable in training. I came on for 45 minutes at Motherwell then 45 against Kilmarnock.
"Peter Crouch was playing and it was good to watch him.
"I felt It is easier with better player around me, more talent. And older players give you a lot more encouragement."
