Make fun of the Canucks all you want.

I'll probably agree with you.

I used to be a fan of the Canucks, but ever since the 94 playoffs... they choke everytime they get in a big game situation. So its just not worth cheering for them, and i forgot about Toronto... oh well nobody likes them anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Canucks.

But their second half this year was just abominable. They've got upwards of $15 million invested in their top line, and none of those guys came even close to earning that. I've always liked Brendan Morrison, but he was absolute horseshit this entire season -- of course, unlike Bertuzzi and Naslund, he at least sort of tried to backcheck. If the big line had played to their potential, paired with a 2nd line of the Sedins and Carter (or whoever, really), the Canucks would have had a MONSTER front 6.

And it just kills me that Canucks fans are pinning the season on Alex Auld. He's the only reason we even had a shot down the stretch at all.

I thought this thread was about "real" teams? You don't see me saying if the Penguins did this, or the Penguins did that.. haha..

Anyway, I feel strong about my prediction of a Flames/Senators final. The Sens will finally get through the east. The only team I'm worried about right now in derailing them is the Devils because of how incredibly hot they've been down the stretch.. Didn't think I've been paying attention did you?

Well, I'm getting screwed this year anyway. I moved to the next town over and the shit digital cable they have here doesn't cover the OLN, where the old cable I had did..I'm stuck with NBC which isn't much.

Oh man I saw a period or so of OLN's coverage... just brutal.

And Blitz, if anything I'm being critical of the Canucks.

As for the Devils, I didn't even realize they had a shot at the division until the last day when they made that 3-goal comeback and sealed the deal. I thought it was PHI and NYR way ahead, battling it out themselves. Then BAM. The Devils are right back where they always are.

That NJ/NYR series should be really good though. Obviously the Devils have all the experience (see Brodeur), but without Stevens and Niedermayer, who knows how steady that backline will be. Then you have the Rangers, who have a lot of veteran presence (see Jagr), and their own goalie who can steal a game.

What strikes me about this year's playoffs is a real lack of playoff-proven goalies. Obviously you have Brodeur and Kipper and Giguere, but I think everyone is curious to see how guys like Lundqvist and Gerber and Miller will do. Or Huet, if he plays!

No, I know.. I was just ragging on you while making a joke about my non-competitive team. However, they did play better down the stretch and Crosby played at a nice level for an 18-year old! He's gonna be great.

Umm, yeah I hear you on the unproven goalies.. I think the Devils will actual hand it to the Rangers in the series though if they get off to a good start. The Rangers have been brutal down the stretch and look like a very tired team. The Devils.. the complete opposite. Who knows.. Jagr might come out the gate and shut me up right away though, he's back to being The man.

The upset I'm looking for right now is the 'Lanche over the Stars in 7. But is it an upset when you are Colorado?

Flames take game one. Typical Flames game.

And typical awful CBC broadcast. So many technical problems and of course they just have to talk about the Leafs instead of teams actually playing in the playoffs :1mad:

The EDM/DET broadcast was pretty bad too. I don't know who was doing play-by-play but it sounded like he needed some life support. And during the first OT they cut to the ANA/CAL game in the middle of play for about five minutes. Just harrowing.

I went to a show tonight, and the only real low point was this old bitch in a Flames jersey screaming and cheering and playing pool.
