Anyone catch it? It was my first UFC pay per view and it was awesome. Tito Ortiz Vs Forrest Griffin and the title match of Arlovski and Sylvia were awesome matches. I am a fan and am looking forward to UFC 50.

I heard Sylvia and Tito won be it was from somebody who heard it from somebody else so take it as that. I also heard the PPV was awesome.

I watched the main event. I was pretty drunk at this point so maybe my opinion isn't the greatest. Tito and Forrest had a really good fight. Tito had the first round but the other two were too close to tell.

Tito just barely won. I thought Tito would whoop his ass in the first round.

This was the first UFC pay per view I watched in a long time. We used to rent them from a video store way back about 95-96 but this is the first recent one I watched.

I thought it was really good. Forrest vs. Tito was a great match, it looked like Tito was going to dominate after the first round but then Forrest took the second round. The third round was really close. Tito barely took it.

Now thats just what I am,
And for this Yankee nation,
I do not give a damn.
I'm glad we fought against her,
I only wish we'd won.
I ain't asking any pardon for anything we've done.

I think Forrest should have won and I was shocked to see Ortiz say he was a little surprise that he got the close victory. The championship match was just awesome, the way Sylvia knocked him down on that one punch after being knocked down.

Another very good PPV by UFC.

Ortiz-Griffin was from a crowd atmosphere standpoint, one of the most electric fights in UFC history. They reacted to everything and even though the fight was in Tito's hometown, they cheered Griffin just as much as Ortiz. I thought Tito won, but it could've gone either way as Griffin landed some good blows, but in the end, Ortiz's takedowns won him the fight. Given that it was revealed he was fighting on a partially torn ACL, you have to respect Ortiz for going out there and giving his all. Looks like the Shamrock fight will be pushed back a few months so Ortiz can heal up.

Silvia's knockout was surprising. I thought it was going to be all over when Arlovsky caught him early but give big Tim credit for hanging in there and landing the one punch he needed. In all honesty, UFC needed Silvia to win to make the HW division stronger. Arlovsky will get a rematch by year's end, though.

I was disappointed in Nick Diaz's effort. I think he's about done in the UFC. Too bad because he showed a lot of promise but he's been dominated pretty much in his last three fights (all losses).

First time I've watched in ages and was suprised how well Griffin coped with Tito's take-downs and was really impressed with how he coped on the floor in the third round. However I don't think the commentary team realised just how crisp Tito was whilst he was on his feet striking. Whilst Griffins strikes looked big because of his wide-arc stance Tito kept picking him off with short left jabs, efficeint punches that kept Forest respectful. It was a good decision by the judges in my opinion.

I had a sig, once.

K Jay,
Definitely agree with you in regards to Tito's stand-up. I thought he hung right in there with Griffin. I went back and re-watched the fight today and the striking was pretty even, although when I first watched it I thought Griffin had a huge edge. He threw more punches but a lot of them didn't connect and on other ocassions when he did throw, Tito was able to counter-punch (similar to Stephan Bonnar in his fight against Forrest) and connect just as well as Griffin.
