yeah, the one who was complaining during the Ortiz training session that he couldn't be expected to train as hard as the younger guys.

Yeah, that guy from New Orleans definitely came into the show out of shape. Always kills me how guys do that. You know you are going to be competing for a UFC, you would think you'd want to come in ready to go.

From watching the first episode, I think in the long run the guys who train with Ortiz are going to have an advantage. He's more hands-on, plus he's got a great boxing coach and Dean Lister is one of the best grapplers of all-time.

Shamrock has some weightlifting dude who's trying to tell the guys about nutrition? I know nutrition is important, but you'd think Shamrock would've brought in a guy with BJJ experience, since he admitted he has none and wouldn't be teaching it, even though several of his fighters are trained in that discipline.

Ortiz gets a rap as a bad guy but a lot of what he does is just to frustrate his opponent inside the cage. I thought he came off as a nice guy.

It seems to me that Ortiz and his "bad guy" persona is purely a marketing tool brought on by himself to help sell more tickets to the events he fights in.

I saw the show. It looks like they have a much better group of fighters than last years. I also like how different Shamrock and Ortiz are in their approach to coaching. It's going to be interesting to see how both of those pan out in the long haul.

It's too early for me to pick any favorites because I did that in the last couple of seasons and was dead wrong. I know that lazy guy isn't going to make it though, hahahah.

Is Ortiz even going to bother shouting out instructions when the deaf guy fights?

Well, the Ortiz-Shamrock tension definitely paid off in the ratings, as the premiere episdoe of TUF 3 scored an impressive 2.0 rating. Not only is this good news for UFC, but TNA as well, as they debut this Thursday after TUF. Ultimate Fight Night did a 1.6, which isn't bad considering the fights weren't that great.

Tonight at 9 p.m. there's a half-hour special on Andrei Arlovsky (think it's similar to the show they did a few weeks ago on Rich Franklin), followed by a 30-minute preview of Saturday's PPV.

I've got Ortiz and Arlovsky winning the two big fights on the show.

Episode 2 was pretty good. That armbar by Noah was pretty sweet. I think he would've lost the fight had he not got that submission as Jesse appeared to be in control the entire first round until he got caught.

The english guy who keeps complaining about not getting a fair shake from Tito in regards to training needs to shut his hole. Of course Tito is going to spend more time with Matt...the guy's deaf! Even with an interpreter (good move, UFC) it's likely going to take Tito longer to explain certain things to Matt than the others. Plus, Matt is the best wrestler in the group, so he has more potential to be a good fighter.

I'm glad Shamrock called out the guy who won his fight in week one for slacking off. I can't believe the guy was trying to talk back to Shamrock...if he was so good and didn't need Shamrock's training, then why isn't he currently fighting in the UFC?

It seems a lot of guys on this season have big egos and need to be put in their place. If they were to fight either coach they'd get owned, so they need to stop complaining and start listening to the coaches. Win a few titles in the octagon and then you can judge if someone is training people properly or not.

UFC PPV is tonight. Ortiz refused to shake Griffin's hand at the weigh-in. Tito looked really focused for the fight, and with it being in his backyard (Anaheim, which is close to Huntington Beach) he's going to be the big favoritge with the crowd. Griffin, who is used to being a big babyface, will be booed much like John Cena tonight and I see Tito winning this thing either by submission or decision.

The guys on this season do have big egos, and do need to get put in their place, but I also think it's indicative of how much better they are this season than season 2.

I can't think of the guys name but he has a lot of "tats" and was the guy who pushed the whole basketball thing. I totally fucking hate him. I hope he gets a beating.

I really like the changes they made this season as well. The "challenges" were stupid, in my opinion. I like how if one team wins they retain control of the fights. That adds some drama to the whole thing. The challenges were silly and a waste of the show. I also like how, at least so far, they haven't been doing advertisements like they were with last seasons show. That took the quality down, I think.

Oh, and the round set-up is much better this time around.

Well, epidsode 2 saw the ratings drop from a 2.0 to a 1.3. Not sure why the big drop, but hopefully ratings will pick up again this week.

TNA Impact! did a 1.1, which is very good, as they kept most of the UFC audience.

I guess going straight into the Samoa Joe-Christopher Daniels match was a good idea afterall.

It does seem strange for TUF to drop from 2.0 to 1.3, but I think it will go back up this week.

Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.
