I won't post all the rosters or anything, but basically who do you think would be a good pickup? A good sleeper. Could be young or old, maybe a guy with a good change of scenery.

I've heard folks say Brad Wilkerson should be a lot better this year in Texas.

People have been talking up Wilkerson for a few years now, and he hasn't done anything. I wouldn't go after him too early.

I doubt he counts as a "sleeper" but that 19-year old pitcher Seattle has could be a good guy to take a chance on. He has the potential to put up '84 Gooden numbers

Felix Rodriguez, I believe his name is. I think Coco Crisp are going to shock a lot of people this year.

Oh, by the way Freak, I've generally done pretty well in my fantasy leagues, I find that the best strategy is to stick with proven performers (who rarely get hurt) in the early rounds, and pick up any sleepers who fall through the cracks in the later rounds. I tend to stick with guys in their mid-to-late 20's, avoiding the old declining players and the young unproven guys

I keep waiting for Jacque Jones to put up great numbers. He goes on these tears for a couple weeks and looks like a star and then does nothing for a month.

No knocks here, but is that not essentially the desired format for most poolies? I always follow that route with any hockey pool I'm in.

Well, yeah, that's what most people who win their leagues do.

Some of my friends are really big on picking up sleepers, so they pick unproven guys WAY too early. Like, in one of my football leagues this year, Kevin Jones got picked in the second round, 15th overall. Also, Cedric Benson got picked early in the third round. Nate Burleson also got picked really early (either late 3rd or early 4th). None of those three teams made the playoffs in my league.

oh, and two years ago, one of my friends took the Ravens D in either the 2nd or 3rd round. That was pretty stupid, especially considering they werent all that good that year
