What would you rather have: Shaun Alexander or the #1 overall pick?

Remember to keep in mind the long-term effects of this decision: Alexander's age, his inevitable contract demands, but also his talent.

For me, it would honestly be tough. I'm still no where near sold on Alexander as an elite running back, and hope he gets to maybe prove himself behind a less-outstanding offensive line.

If you mean, who would I take Bush or Alexander.. I'd take Bush. I think a mediocre running back can have success behind that line and to me Bush isn't mediocre. He'd be great and he's a lot younger and you'd have him wrapped up for at least 7 years. And Bush can also be a threat to catch out of the backfield much like a WR.

I do think Alexander is good though.

Yeah...i think if it's a once-a-decade type player like Bush, I would take the #1 pick. But, most years, I would take Alexander. Especially last year, when Alex Smith went first

Alexander...I always go with the proven vets over the rookies...unless it's Reggie Bush, then I'd take the pick.
