I was inspired to make this after seeing Alexandre Daigle pick up 3 assists tonight for the Minnesota Wild. Despite the good game, Daigle has to be considered one of the bigger busts in hockey history.
Theo Fluery? I don't know why I thought of him. I have no stats to back this up really.

Haha, you probably don't know what "bust" means then. Fleury is as far as you can get from bust.
Lots of people would say Ki-Jana Carter in the NFL, but his failure was due in large part to injuries, so I dunno how fair that is. Ryan Leaf absolutely must be mentioned. Where would the Colts be today if the coin had come up tails and they had picked Leaf?
Pat Falloon is another big hockey bust. Same as Patrik Stefan.
Would Eric Lindros be considered a bust? I know he had a couple of good seasons but wasn't he suppose to be the second coming of Wayne Gretzky

I wouldn't call him a bust... he's failed to meet expectations, but those were wild, wild expectations. He did win the MVP one year, I think, and he's led his team to the Finals.
Somewhat, but Lindros primarily falls under the Ki-Jana Carter case. Other hockey notables can include former 1st round picks such as Doug Wickenheiser, Gord Kluzak, Brian Lawton, and, Joe Murphy.
For some reason I still have a small dose of faith in Stefan, he has at least been consistent over the past six years. Unlike his draft-year brethren Pavel Brendl (Huge, huge bust).

That's true. I thought Brendl was gonna be the shit when he came out... I think he was on the Calgary Hitmen, and he scored like two goals a game. I remember scouts saying Stefan was a 2nd-line center when he went 1st overall, which had me wondering why an expansion team would start their franchise with a 2nd-line center?
I also thought Boyd Devereaux was gonna be awesome, but that never panned out.
Ryan Leaf is about as bad as it gets. He wasn't just a bad player, he was an all around asshole. I have a feeling the Niner's Alex Smith may turn into a huge bust, but it's too early to say that yet.
In basketball, Kwame Brown comes to mind, but he's still got some time to become a decent player. Same with Darco Milicic.
In baseball, the only one I can think of is Rick Ankiel, though aparently he's doing well as a left fielder now.
I don't know anything at all about baseball prospects, or where they come from, or how they're touted... so I can't really say much on that. I know Drew Henson was a big failure, and continues his luck as a Dallas Cowboy.
Henson wasn't really a bust because no one really expected much out of him as a baseball player. He just got a lot of attention because he could have gone straight into the NFL.
Baseball doesn't really have busts, since even the most highly regarded prospects have to go through at least a couple years in the minors before they get a shot in the majors.
