UFC shaping up for huge 2006

Don't know if anyone caught the PPV on Saturday but boy, Dana White made some huge announcements concering the future of the UFC.

Here's some of the highlights:

Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz will be the coaches for The Ultimate Fighter 3. They are coaching largely to hype up their rematch fight, which will take place after the show. Ortiz will also fight TUF Season 1 winner Forrest Griffin.

Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture will meet in a rubber match for Liddell's UFC Lightheavyweight Title in February. (the winner will likely fight the Ortiz-Shamrock winner later in the summer).

Frank Mir and BJ Penn have also been signed to new UFC contracts. (Just thinking about a Penn-Matt Hughes fight gets me jacked up).

There's going to be so many big fights next year, I can't wait. If you thought 2005 was a good year for the UFC, 2006 promises to be even better.

As Big John McCarthy would say: "Let's get it on, come on!"

I may watch TUF 3 since Shamrock will be one of the coaches for it, did they say when the new season would start?

Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.

I watched the PPV and all of it was exciting news for the UFC.Tito and Ken hate each other and Dana Hates Tito this this will make an interesting TUF for sure. As much as I don't like Tito, I think Shamrock is in for another loss. I don't recall the last time Shamrock has won a match, UFC or Pride.

Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture will meet in a rubber match for Liddell's UFC Lightheavyweight Title in February. (the winner will likely fight the Ortiz-Shamrock winner later in the summer).

The rubber match indeed. I think Chuck will take it but I still am not counting out Randy to pull it out if he is in top form.

Frank Mir and BJ Penn have also been signed to new UFC contracts. (Just thinking about a Penn-Matt Hughes fight gets me jacked up).

Finally Andrei Arlovski has someone that will be a challenge to him! I am glad Frank was able to rehab and can return to the otagon. PJ is going to kick Matt's ass. That is all I have to say about that.

That should be an interesting fight. Tito hasn't fought in a while and this will be Griffin's biggest test to date. I say Tito wins by decision b/c I don't think he can knockout Griffin.
