I saw this story on MSNBC and looks like they got it from the Washington Post. Apparently if New Orleans is unable to recover from Hurricane Katrina the NFL will consider moving the Saints to Los Angeles.
Heres the link.

The Saints owner has been dying to move the team for a while now. He's using the hurricane as an excuse
They want to move the team to San Antonio full-time next season, and then try to move again (to L.A.) in a few years. A high-ranking team official who was in favor of keeping the team in N.O. was fired recently. The Saints will never play another game in N.O.
A cool idea I heard was for the Superdome to be rebuilt, and for it to serve as the host of the Super Bowl every year

The Saints have been based in San Antonio since they were forced out of the Crescent City by the hurricane in August. But sources have said the NFL has no interest in the Texas city as a permanent home for the club.

Wouldn't the Superdome, rebuilt or not, just be a horrible reminder of all the rapes, murders, violence, and other negativity that took place after Katrina? Who the hell would want to go there?
Dome Superbowls are boring. They need to place a few more in colder weather, make it unpredictable and interesting.

I agree. After all cold, wind, and snow are "football weather".
But the NFL tries to accomodate all the celebrities and business partners by putting it in warm weather locales (usually) or putting it in a dome.
Plus, there are so many Super Bowl related events during the week that they don't want hundreds of thousands of people trying to get around the city in a blizzard or something like that

You just want them to play at Soldier Field, don't you? Just like I would like them to play at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Actually, it's a shame that they won't play in a stadium up north unless it's domed. When it's snowing and the wind is blowing, that makes for a great football game and would make it more exciting.

Yeah you couldn't have the halftime celebrities perform in cold weather.

Games with bad weather always get better ratings. People like that. It's like watching Nascar. We want to see the car crash.
Yeah, I'd love to see one in Soldiers Field.

They've been talking for years about playing one in Giants Stadium. I think the NFL said that if they could build a partial roof that at least covers the fans (in case of snow) they would consider it, but it's not gonna happen.
I think that once the current Super Bowl site obligations are up (I think they've announced the sites through 2009) they should do a series of game sin the Northern states...have one in Giants Stadium, one in Soldier Field, and one in Lambeau Field. Maybe Cleveland too, since its such a big football town

As for the topic at hand, I would love to see the Saints come to LA. I've always liked the Saints, and since we obviously don't have a team right now, I feel like the Saints would be a great fit. I wish, however, that it would have been under different circumstances. The owner is coming off as an insensitive douche bag, and this is a rather awkward way to get a team.
