You may be thinking of 1995 as well, they were knocked out in the Semis via Detroit. Basically the 1996 playoffs were going to be a lock between three teams, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Colorado, it was almost inevitable since December when the Avs snagged Pat Roy.

Yeah, the playoffs of the 95/96 season. That's when Roenick talked some crap on Roy (pronounced WAAAAAAH) and Roy said he couldn't hear what Roenick said, the clinking of all his championship rings were drowning him out.

For the record, my opinion was Roenick should have kept his mouth shut til he actually won something. I don't like Roy but he has the hardware to back him up.

I'm trying to remember who the Hawks beat in the first round, there were several OT games including a 3OT job that was insane. Pretty sure it was Vancouver, I remember Trent Yawney turning the puck over right in front of his own crease towards the end of the third OT and Hawks dumping it in for the win.

Roenick is a moron that should keep his mouth shut all the time :lick: Especially when it comes to one of the best NHL goalies of all time.

Yeah, I've always been of the opinion that until you've done it? Shut it.

Nonetheless, the Hawks had the Avalanche beat til Amonte went down. I will believe that til my dying day.
