England Football (Soccer) Manager
Just really for the other Brits on the board (you Welsh can answer too!).
It won't happen but if Sven were fired tomorrow who would you want to replace him and why?
I don't 100% like the way they play but I would choose Sam Allardyce since (a) he's been succesful over a good period of time in taking Bolton to where they are (b) he seems to be able to handle complicated, i.e gifted but messed up individuals (c) he's now beginning to get some European experience (d) he openly uses new technology wherever possible whilst still coming over as an old school passionate boss.
Who would you go for?
Would he have to be British?

I would go for Big Sam as well for the same reasons as you've given.
I would consider Steve McLaren, he's been around the England squad for some time now, so the players all know him and it would be a fairly easy transition.
I think it should be another Englishman who takes over after Sven. It was hard to think of that many top flight English managers. The only other 3 I can think of are Alan Curbishly, Brian Robson and Paul Jewell, and I don't think either of them are ready for the national side.
Wait a minute, isn't Great Britian made up of England, Wales, and Scotland? And then with Northern Ireland makes up the UK? So wouldn't Welsh people also be British?

Lol. Yes, I think the Welsh dwellers knew what I was trying to say (judging by Deadly's response)

I'd be totally uninspired if we ever went for MacLaren.
Another thing I forgot to say about him was he's more or less the Manager now. I don't really care who the next one is, as long as he takes them on a downward spiral and England don't qualify for the next 50 World Cups. That would make me happy.
