 Bill
Parcells | 93% Team: Dallas Cowboys Record: 3-2 Votes: 13,976 Week 5: Cowboys manhandle Eagles in NFC East showdown
Before Sunday, Philadelphia had won nine of the previous ten games against the Cowboys. The Eagles entered the game with the league's top receiver and top quarterback. Seems like a recipe for a blowout. It was. Drew Bledsoe picked apart the Eagles defense throwing for 298 yards and three touchdowns and the Cowboys defense held the Eagles to 129 total yards. Vote |
 Bill
Cowher | 93% Team: Pittsburgh Steelers Record: 3-1 Votes: 8,399 Week 5: Steelers win (and lose) on Monday Night
With a hard-fought 24-22 Monday Night victory over San Diego behind them, the real work begins. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger went down with a knee injury late in the game and it is uncertain how long he will be out. The Steelers are also without backup signal caller Tommy Maddox who suffered a calf injury just three days before. That leaves it to NFL veteran Charlie Batch. How Cowher guides this team over the next month (two division games in the next three weeks) will be crucial to the Steeler's hopes of staying in the hunt in the AFC North. Vote |
 Tony
Dungy | 92% Team: Indianapolis Colts Record: 5-0 Votes: 4,812 Week 5: Colts use late surge to blow away 49ers
That Colts offense that seemed to reawaken last week must have dozed off again. Up only 11 entering the fourth quarter, Indy struck for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to widen the gap. Thankfully for Tony Dungy, that stingy Colts defense was present and accounted for, easily keeping Niners rookie quarterback Alex Smith in check for a 28-3 victory. Vote |
 Marvin
Lewis | 92% Team: Cincinnati Bengals Record: 4-1 Votes: 4,101 Week 5: Bengals dig early hole, say goodbye to undefeated record
The Cincinnati Bengals got off on the wrong foot against the Jaguars on Sunday night on ESPN thanks to penalties, bad punts, a blocked punt, you name it. The frustration seemed to swell as Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson were seen having it out on the sideline. They made up and Palmer was driving his team into field goal range in the closing minutes before he had the ball stripped with 1:28 to play, resulting in a 23-20 loss. Vote |
 Romeo
Crennel | 91% Team: Cleveland Browns Record: 2-2 Votes: 3,454 Week 5: Defense keys Browns' second win of the season
The Browns defense forced five fumbles and recovered three as Cleveland notched a 20-10 win over the Chicago Bears. The turnovers could have gone for naught if it weren't for two fourth-quarter touchdown connections between Trent Dilfer and Antonio Bryant that resulted in a 20-10 win. Vote |
 Mike
Shanahan | 90% Team: Denver Broncos Record: 4-1 Votes: 4,548 Week 5: Broncos survive frenzied final drive by Redskins
Leading 21-13 in the fourth quarter, the Broncos looked helpless as the Redskins marched down the field, thanks in part to two ill-timed penalties by the Broncos, and scored to pull within two. But the defense stepped up, tipping away the potential game-tying two point conversion attempt to seal the 21-19 win. Vote |
 Tom
Coughlin | 88% Team: New York Giants Record: 3-1 Votes: 2,053 Week 5: Bye
The 3-1 Giants had a bye in Week 5. They will face the Dallas Cowboys on the road in Week 6. Vote |
 Joe
Gibbs | 87% Team: Washington Redskins Record: 3-1 Votes: 4,424 Week 5: Redskins too little, too late in loss to Broncos
The Redskins drove 94 yards over 13 plays and scored on a 11-yard pass from Mark Brunell to Chris Cooley to get within two points with just over a minute to go. The ensuing two-point conversion attempt was tipped away as the Broncos held on for a 21-19 victory. Vote |
 Nick
Saban | 87% Team: Miami Dolphins Record: 2-2 Votes: 2,040 Week 5: Dolphins rack up more penalties than points
The tight, disciplined Nick Saban squad of Week 1 was nowhere to be found on Sunday as Miami committed a franchise-record 18 penalties for 108 yards in a 20-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins, despite five turnovers, were on the verge of erasing a 17-0 deficit when running back Ronnie Brown fumbled with 1:37 remaining. Vote |
 John
Fox | 86% Team: Carolina Panthers Record: 3-2 Votes: 2,053 Week 5: Panthers' late rally spoils Cardinals' offensive explosion
The Carolina Panthers lost the first three quarters but won the one that counted. After being down 20-10 in the fourth quarter, Jake Delhomme led a 10-play, 49-yard drive resulting in a 4-yard touchdown pass with just under seven minutes remaining to complete the comeback. Vote |
 Jim
Mora | 86% Team: Atlanta Falcons Record: 3-2 Votes: 1,317 Week 5: Falcons hang with the Patriots despite no Michael Vick
With their superstar quarterback/running back standing on the sidelines, the Atlanta Falcons staged a 15-point comeback in the fourth quarter before losing to the Patriots 31-28 on a late field goal by Adam Vinatieri. Backup quarterback Matt Shaub proved to be a solid replacement, throwing for 298 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Vote |
 Jack
Del Rio | 86% Team: Jacksonville Jaguars Record: 3-2 Votes: 1,656 Week 5: Defense keys Jaguars win on Sunday night
Jack Del Rio had a tough assignment on Sunday, trying to humble the 4-0 Cincinnati Bengals. The Jags jumped out to a 13-0 lead thanks to a strong defensive performance that had the Bengals dazed and confused. The defense, after a second half letdown, rose to the occassion again late, causing a fumble with under two minutes to play to secure the 23-20 win. Vote |
 Bill
Belichick | 84% Team: New England Patriots Record: 3-2 Votes: 5,144 Week 5: Patriots avoid back-to-back losses with win over Vick-less Falcons
Adam Vinatieri only kicked one field goal but it won the game. With just 20 ticks left on the clock, the Golden Legged One split the uprights to help secure a 31-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Michael Vick could only watch from the sidelines as he nursed a sprained right knee. But not all is good. The Pats watched a 15-point lead evaporate in the fourth quarter before Vinatieri's late field goal saved the day. Vote |
 Jeff
Fisher | 79% Team: Tennessee Titans Record: 2-3 Votes: 1,090 Week 5: Titans get back on track against struggling Texans
There is no better prescription for a team coming off a 30-10 loss to the Colts a week earlier than a date with the league's worst offense. The Titans took full advantage with a strong game from quarterback Steve McNair who threw for 220 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions and the defense gave up just one touchdown in the final two minutes in a 34-20 win over the 0-4 Houston Texans. Vote |
 Herman
Edwards | 78% Team: New York Jets Record: 2-3 Votes: 2,471 Week 5: V-V-V-Vinny and the Jets!
It wasn't exactly a Michael Vick-esque performance but Vinny Testaverde did exactly what he was supposed to do: not lose the game. Testaverde threw for 163 yards, handed the ball off to running back Curtis Martin, who scored two touchdowns, and let the defense do the rest in a 14-12 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Vote |
 Mike
Holmgren | 77% Team: Seattle Seahawks Record: 3-2 Votes: 2,384 Week 5: Seahawks out-muscle Rams in offensive slugfest
The Seahawks went 0-for-3 against the Rams last season and 0-for-4 just wasn't in the plans. Despite giving up a 99-yard opening kickoff return, the Seahawks bounced back with huge performances from Matt Hasselbeck (316 yards, two touchdowns), Shaun Alexander (119 yards, two touchdowns) and Joe Jurevicius (137 yards, one touchdown) who stepped in nicely in the absence of Darrell Jackson and Bobby Engram. Vote |
 Jon
Gruden | 76% Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Record: 4-1 Votes: 1,687 Week 5: Buccaneers offense sputters, stalls in first loss of the season
Not having Carnell "Cadillac" Williams on the field because of foot and hamstring injuries turned out to be even more costly than expected on Sunday. The phenom rookie running back's absence was felt as the Bucs failed to reach the end zone and totaled only 84 yards on the ground in a 14-12 loss to the New York Jets. Vote |
 Marty
Schottenheimer | 72% Team: San Diego Chargers Record: 2-3 Votes: 2,121
b>Week 5: Chargers lose close one to Steelers on Monday Night
After a two-point loss to the Steelers, Chargers fans are left to wonder what could have been if not for a few more yards here or there. Maybe LaDainian Tomlinson could have provided that jolt if not for getting the handoff only 18 times. The numbers don't lie. So far this season, if Tomlinson gets 20 carries or more, the Chargers win. Of course, eight penalties for 88 yards in the first half doesn't help either. Vote |
 Mike
Nolan | 68% Team: San Francisco 49ers Record: 1-4 Votes: 1,798 Week 5: Did Nolan give Smith the keys too soon?
Before the game, Mike Nolan said he was starting rookie quarterback Alex Smith because he "gives us the best chance to win." So what were their chances like before? Smith and company had no answers for a stingy Colts defense as the 49ers failed to break 200 total yards for the second consecutive week in a 28-3 loss. Vote |
 Mike
Mularkey | 62% Team: Buffalo Bills Record: 2-3 Votes: 1,450 Week 5: Kelly Holcomb helps snap Bills' three-game losing streak
The Bills forced five Miami turnovers but it was the fifth that sealed the deal. After jumping out to a 17-0 halftime lead, the Bills gave up two touchdowns and were watching the Dolphins march towards a third. But Nate Clements stripped Ronnie Brown of the ball with 1:37 remaining to preserve the 20-14 win. Vote |
 Steve
Mariucci | 56% Team: Detroit Lions Record: 2-2 Votes: 3,152 Week 5: Lions offense wakes up in win over Baltimore
Last week the Lions took a tough loss when an official overturned a touchdown call with 13 seconds remaining. This week the Lions could relax as it was the Ravens who felt the wrath of the whistle, being called for 21 turnovers and having two players ejected. Nevertheless, the Lions offense was impressive in the 35-17 win, despite not having Charles Rogers on the field. Vote |
 Dick
Vermeil | 52% Team: Kansas City Chiefs Record: 2-2 Votes: 955 Week 5: Bye
The 2-2 Chiefs had a bye in Week 5. They will host the Washington Redskins in Week 6. Vote |
 Dennis
Green | 46% Team: Arizona Cardinals Record: 1-4 Votes: 1,046 Week 5: Cardinals watch game slip away in the fourth quarter
After an impressive first three quarters, outscoring the Panthers 20-10, the Cardinals were outscored 14-0 in the fourth quarter, wasting 464 yards of total offense and a 158-yard receiving day by Anquan Boldin. Vote |
 Mike
Sherman | 46% Team: Green Bay Packers Record: 1-4 Votes: 4,651 Week 5: Packers put an end to 0-4 nightmare
Brett Favre and the Packers tasted victory for the first time this season thanks to a very Favre-like performance with 215 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in a 52-3 rout over New Orleans. Green Bay's defense also stepped up, forcing three first-half turnovers. Even better news for Packer fans, Green Bay managed to dominate without the services of running back Ahman Green. Vote |
 Lovie
Smith | 46% Team: Chicago Bears Record: 1-3 Votes: 1,360 Week 5: Bears offense M.I.A. in loss to Browns
The Bears offense never quite got off the ground on Sunday, despite 137 yards rushing from Thomas Jones. Three costly fumbles did nothing to help Kyle Orton who completed 16-of-26 for 117 yards in the 20-10 loss. Despite the Bears' erratic play, it wasn't until Orton's own fumble in the fourth quarter that was turned into a Browns touchdown that the game was put out of reach. Vote |
 Andy
Reid | 45% Team: Philadelphia Eagles Record: 3-2 Votes: 3,805 Week 5: McNabb can't overcome injuries against Cowboys
Donovan McNabb, battling a sports hernia, chest injury and shin contusion, looked like a quarterback battling a sports hernia, chest injury and shin contusion. So why was he in the game with the team down 23 points? Unable to get anything going, the Eagles couldn't advance the ball, couldn't defend and were pushed around all day, resulting in an embarrassing 33-10 loss. Vote |
 Norv
Turner | 41% Team: Oakland Raiders Record: 1-3 Votes: 1,054 Week 5: Bye
The 1-3 Raiders had a bye in Week 5. They will host the San Diego Chargers in Week 6. Vote |
 Jim
Haslett | 27% Team: New Orleans Saints Record: 2-3 Votes: 1,621 Week 5: Saints suffer at the hands of an angry Brett Favre
Aaron Brooks' first visit to Lambeau Field will be a memorable one for all the wrong reasons. Brooks threw two interceptions and completed just nine passes, his team committed 11 penalties, missed two field goals and lost two fumbles in a 52-3 loss to the Packers. With wide receiver Joe Horn out, Saints fans hoped for a big game from running back Deuce McAllister but he registered just 31 yards. Vote |
 Mike
Martz | 12% Team: St. Louis Rams Record: 2-3 Votes: 2,233 Week 5: Late fumble erases possible late fourth-quarter comeback drive
With first place in the NFC West on the line, the Rams and Seahawks traded touchdowns in a wild, 45-point first half. The Rams would put themselves in a nice position in the fourth quarter to possibly take the lead but a fumble on a kick return gave the ball back to the Seahawks who would run out the clock. On Monday, it was announced Martz is out indefinately as head coach while he recovers from a bacterial infection near his heart. Assistant head coach Joe Vitt will lead the team in Martz's absence. Vote |
 Brian
Billick | 11% Team: Baltimore Ravens Record: 1-3 Votes: 2,965 Week 5: Ravens join the infamous ''More Penalties Than Points" club
Everything unraveled for head coach Brian Billick in Week 5 as he watched his Ravens commit 21 penalties for 147 yards, turn the ball over four times and have two players ejected. But there is no time to complain about the officials. Billick has to find a way to dig his team out of a 1-3 hole before next week's home date with Cleveland. Vote |
 Dom
Capers | 10% Team: Houston Texans Record: 0-4 Votes: 2,281 Week 5: Texans still searching for first win of the season
The NFL's worst offense was on display Sunday as the Texans reached the end zone just once in th waning minutes of a 34-20 loss to the Tennesse Titans. After being sacked seven times last week, quarterback David Carr ate turf seven more times this week. Running back Domanick Davis had a nice day with 130 yards and Kris Brown hit all four of his field goals, but that first win is looking more and more elusive with each passing week. Vote |
 Mike
Tice | 10% Team: Minnesota Vikings Record: 1-3 Votes: 3,477 Week 5: Bye
The 1-3 Vikings had a bye in Week 5. They will face the Chicago Bears on the road in Week 6. Vote |
