I think he's a warrior for gutting out this injury he's got. It'd be easy for him to take the abdominal surgery that's required to fix it, but he's gonna play in extreme pain all year long. That's love for the game.
I have to give it up to McNabb, it seems that nowadays in sports athletes sit out for the mildest injuries so it's refreshing to see someone gut it out.

I haven't read much about it, but how much time would he miss if he opted for the surgery? The way the NFC East is, if he's only missing a few games, I'd probably say surgery isn't a bad idea.
McNabb is definately towing the line between gutsy and retarded. He's risking some serious damage by playing with a hernia. Last I heard, surgery would only keep him out 6-8 weeks. The Eagles can definately survive 5-7 games without McNabb and still make the playoffs, and personaly I would rather have a 100% in the playoffs, than a 50% McNabb for the whole year.
He's a warrior, no doubt. Of course, if he gets hurt worse everyone will second guess and say he should've had the surgery sooner, but I think it's refreshing to see someone battle through an injury.
DMW is right, considering how weak the NFC is the Eagles could go a few weeks without McNabb and still make the playoffs.
