We will see. I wouldn't bet money on it just yet til we get more into the season. Teams play each other a lot mroe now and it is a whole new game out there on the ice.

Well, a couple of factors come into play: Knowing stats are nice, but they don't tell the whole story. All they tell me is that you've memorized a bunch of numbers. When someone can recount key plays/moments in a game/season, that shows me the person knows what he is talking about, b/c they've actually paid attention to the game and know what is going on. They can discuss who key players are and why, and why another team lost the game, as well as why that game/situation was so important. You have to be able to look past the numbers. Being able to back up your discussions with facts is also important. Anyone can say "The Bengals are the best team in the NFL" OK, now tell me why that is and why you believe it. And don't quote what you heard on ESPN, I want your opinion, not Sean Salisbury's. As most of you know, I'm a Sports Reporter, and as you can imagine, I talk sports with a lot of people, including other reporters. It's funny b/c some of my colleagues no very little about sports, and it shows in their writing. Others think they know everything, and that is annoying, but most are right in the middle, they know a lot but don't pretend to know it all and can have good discussions on a variety of topics/sports. |

I've seen so much baseball this year I think my head might explode. I've been watching a lot of college football and NFL also.. College is beginnin to bore me though, I'm not sure if anyone can stay with USC. The dubest thing I've heard this year by a sports reporter is that USC could beat the bad teams in the NFL. That was laughable. The Cardinals or Bears would kick their ass all over the field.

That's horseshit... these are kids we're talking about. I don't care if half of them were drafted the next year, they aren't beating a professional football team -- not even CFL. As for college ball this year... USC is fielding a powerful team, but that almost makes me more intrigued. I love this whole dynasty idea, and if Leinart can win 3 NCs and 2 Heismans, I'd love to be able to one day say I watched him do it. As for USC being the clear-cut favourite... college football is wild because if the Trojans went into a place like Florida or Ohio State or Texas right now, anything could happen. There's obviously no team in the Pac-10 to challenge them, but there are a bunch of teams elsewhere who will certainly put up a fight for the NC.
